Fire Door Refurbishment
Edinburgh

Problem: Oak fire doors showing signs of wear and tear and not meeting current fire regulations

Solution: Doors were removed from site to be refurbished.  Temporary doors were fitted in place.
Doors were drilled and bolted fully through top and bottom rail with 12mm threaded rod.  Drilled holes were then plugged with oak.
Door size increased to comply with fire regulations and ensure tight fit.
Each door was stripped and resprayed to give a new door finish.
Old handles were no longer required so each handle was removed and in place, new stainless steel full-height push plates were fitted to door.
New intumiscent strips were fitted to door and jambs.
Stainless steel protection plates fitted to jamb to protect from traffic.
All mouldings around glass panel and bottom panel were then checked for gaps/tightness and adjusted accordingly.
New high-load hinges fitted as part of entire door upgrade.

Window Covers
Edinburgh

Problem: Custom-made window covers required

Solution: Designed bespoke double-hinged stainless steel fittings which allow the glass panel to be fitted to an off-square surface while still being supported square to the window frame.
The hinge also allows for the panel to be opened and cleaned with ease.  The glass panel is held in place with four threaded stainless caps.
This gives the window cover a clean, minimalist design without impact on internal design or impeding outside views.
